Howard Eaton, CEO & Co-Founder
Chief Executive Officer and founding partner of Benefits Plus Advisors Group. Howard is from Helena, AR, and moved to Iowa in 1991 to attend Iowa State University on an athletic scholarship. Attending Iowa State University, Howard received his B.A. in Business Management and was a 2-year letterman in basketball, team captain and helped lead his team to 2 consecutive NCAA appearances. He graduated in 1994 and began a successful 14 - year career in customer service and sales leadership, managing call centers for 3 different Fortune 500 companies. He later received his EMBA from the University of Memphis in Executive Leadership. Howard married his wife, Tracy, in 2014. The have three children, Aiden, Harrison and Maya. Howard serves on the boards of the Greater Des Moines Partnership and Parenteen (a non-profit).
Howard began his insurance career in voluntary benefits in 2011 with Aflac, having great success as a producer which quickly lead to leadership roles. Over the past 9 years, Howard has had the privilege of leading teams that delivered customized voluntary benefit solutions to over 15,000 companies and sold over $38 million in voluntary benefits. With Aflac, he has received several nationally recognized company awards including President’s Club. He attributes his success to a deep desire and passion for helping his agency partners achieve their personal and professional goals through delivering exceptional solutions and service to their clients.
With changes in the voluntary benefits market due to health care reform, Howard realized that he needed to diversity his solutions portfolio with additional carrier options to meet the everchanging needs of his clients and broker partners. Howard and his business partner, Josh Terrell, launched Benefits Plus Advisory Group in Des Moines, IA and are committed to delivering the customized benefit and other solutions to their clients that help increase profits and help them stay competitive in the everchanging benefit landscape.
Josh Terrell, COO & Co-Founder
Being a coach at heart, Josh finds his passion and purpose in helping agency teammates and business partners reach their personal and professional goals. Josh began his career in the industry in 2012 with Aflac, and has had the privilege in serving, assisting, and partnering with hundreds of clients (in all industries) over his tenure. With Aflac, Josh has received multiple Nationally recognized company awards for operating with his team at a high level. Taking a true consultative approach, Josh seeks to create customized solutions for his clients. As an entrepreneur, Josh remains a student of business development, and takes pride in supporting local company growth.
Attending the University of Dubuque, Josh received a B.A. in Health, as well as an MBA. Before graduating, he also earned wrestling honors, being a 4X All-American and National Champion for the Spartans.
Outside of work he enjoys quality time with his wife, Tina, and their daughters Jenesis (2018) and Shiloh (2020). Together they enjoy community involvement, such as: Serving on a non-profit board (Starts Right Here), music and children's ministry in their local church, and various community service projects. They also like traveling together, hosting friends and family, and outnumbering dad’s household vote.
Paige Witte, Training and Sales Manger
Creative ideas and sales strategies that go far beyond the norm have made Paige a top-producing agent within the Des Moines insurance community. Seasoned advisors and leaders seek out her knowledge of the marketplace, which is only eclipsed by a tireless work ethic, fearlessness, and friendly but fully transparent communication skills. Her knowledge and mentality of “Forever a Student” has landed her position as the Training and Sales Manager here at Benefits-Plus. She is a firm believer in sink or swim time and continues to push herself through every glass ceiling, while
having a lot of fun in the process.
Attending the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, Paige received a B.S. in Health and Sciences with a major in radiation therapy. She completed her degree with an internship at the University of Chicago Medical Center. Growing up in Iowa, she always knew this was the place to call home, so she moved back to Des Moines to pursue radiation therapy. After working as a radiation therapist for 6 years, she decided to carry out another adventure. Because let us be honest, how many of us have a career with the degree we graduated with? However, in all seriousness, she learned a lot about compassion for unforeseen illnesses that strike a family and the terrible financial burden it can bring on.
Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband, Logan and their three kids, 7-year-old son, Kinnick, 5-year-old daughter, Harlow, and 3-year-old daughter, Sutton. Together they live out-of-town on an acreage where they reside in a fully self-remodeled farmhouse. Paige has a passion for interior decorating and on her spare time completes one-room makeovers. Paige’s family occupy majority of their time tending to their small hobby farm, chickens, eventually elk, and taking in their backyard serenity.
Tyler Anderson, Operations Coordinator
Tyler Anderson joined Benefits Plus Advisors Group as the Operations Coordinator in 2021. Tyler grew up in West Des Moines and graduated from Valley High School. He earned a B.A. in Sports Administration in 2016 from Simpson College and has over 10 years of customer service experience.
Tyler has 5 years of experience monitoring and achieving organizational and customer goals as an Operations Coordinator in Des Moines. A former college basketball player at Truman State University and Simpson, as well as a former assistant college coach and current youth coach, Tyler's commitment to teamwork and attention to detail make him a great addition to our team.
